The gap: Currently, there is no official setting and solution for the MarCom discipline in Israel, due to perception as “non-professional”, “on-the-way”, job position, which is subjected and derived.
The essence and the identity of the profession, and it’s role – are unclear or not agreed upon.
Any person can define and call himself “MarCom manager” or a “marketing communication expert”. This lack of regulation and the lack of definition and standardization – create difficulties for CEOs, marketing managers, and experienced professionals, alike.
The aspect of professionalism and matching of outputs – is also breached, and lack characterizations and standards.
The outcome: difficulties upon recruitment, lack of clarity of the skills and criteria required, low professionalism, marketing ineffectiveness, and loss of resources.
There are a prominent gap and a deficit, as well as lack of vital professional aspects:
Standardization and academic training or diploma studies.
Training and implementation for improvement of excellence and capabilities, as well as acquiring up-to-date skills.
Definitions and characterizations of the profession, as well as clear salary parameters.
Standards and threshold conditions for service providers and vendors in the field.
A professional association that will take care of the interests of the people involved in the field.
A professional association, field-originated and run by field-representatives, which will bridge gaps and deal with them, through becoming a professional home that will concentrate all aspects of knowledge in order to help its members to be better and more efficient MarCom experts and managers, promoting the interests of all those involved in the field.
To define, lead, empower and promote – MarCom and marketing communication management profession by its definition and essence, its destiny and its unique activity – as a prestigious, in-demand and esteemed profession;
To serve the needs of the association members and the MarCom profession in general – helping them with field and role specific challenges;
To represent , both as employees and freelancers –before various parties;
To turn the discipline and the role, to a valued profession – for each company, business and organization.
